**Mode**

When given a set of numbers, the **mode** is the number that **appears the most**. The mode is another measure of central tendency. We can also say that the mode is the number in the set that has the most occurrence.

**Example**: Find the mode of the following numbers.

8, 25, 13, 8, 7, 29, 8, 11, 7, 8, 14, 20, 8, 13, 13

Unlike the median, you don’t need to arrange the numbers from least to greatest. Simply identify the number that occurs the most.

In this example, the number 8 is the mode because it shows up five times and appears the most compared to the other numbers in the group.

✅ Please note that it is also possible to have two or more modes in a set of numbers.

A set of numbers with two modes is called **bimodal**. For instance,

0, 1, 2, 0, 1, 0, 2, 1, 0, 1

As you can see, the numbers 0 and 1 both occur the most and they appear the same number of times which is four times. Therefore, the modes for this group of numbers are 0 and 1.
