**Quotient Property of Exponents**

The **Quotient Property of Exponents** states that for any nonzero real number b and for any integers m and n, the quotient of { b }^{ m } and { b }^{ n } is b raised to the power of the difference of m and n.

This can be expressed as \frac { { b }^{ m } }{ { b }^{ n } } ={ b }^{ m-n } but b \ne 0.
